About the Artist

Bernie Sims is a singer/songwriter/performer, based in Salem Oregon.   He began playing in bands in 7th grade, and as often happens with musicians, one band followed another, from  college and fraternity gigs, to opening for national acts, and performing in clubs.  He saw a lot of the Rocky Mountain states, and then, a musical relocation to the Seattle area in 1974, sent him all over the Northwest as well.

Bernie has been writing and performing for several decades as a solo act, often including his originals in with several dozen covers.

Bernie has released three album projects – "Alter Ego" in 2002, "From A Dream" in 2017, and most recently, the 5-song EP “Are You Ready?” (2024).   Across all of these projects, vocal harmonies and sophisticated arrangements, have become signature elements of his original songs.

Bernie performs solo in casual settings, farmers markets, house concerts and at festivals and other venues, often with backing tracks from his studio recordings.  His Covers library includes Rock, Pop and Country Rock hits, along with some standards and Prog Rock hits.  Artists range from Simon and Garfunkel to Michael Buble, CSN&Y to Supertramp, Wille Nelson to Van Morrison, Eagles to the Beatles, Bruno Mars to Train, Charlie Puth to Steely Dan, and Fleetwood Mac to Pink Floyd.    And, there's Elton John, Steve Miller, Kenny Loggins, Tom Petty, James Taylor and the Dobbie Brothers, Poco and ELO among others.

He considers himself incredibly fortunate to be able to do two of the things that he loves to do most - create great music and bring joy to people through music, and then even get paid for it!
