![]() Taste and Learn. Three Northwest Explorers. Three Northwest Vineyards. There was a time when “Oregon Country” meant the entire Pacific Northwest. Running north from the border of California, and taking in what is now Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and British Columbia, “The Northwest” was one vast contiguous territory. As a wine region, it still is. Wine grapes, after all, know no borders. Lady Hill Proprietor Jerry Owen is the fifth generation to farm this land. The characters for whom these wines are named are real people, real explorers who settled in this area. Our story begins where theirs leaves off. The Lady Hill’s Vineyard Explorer Wine Gift-Set includes: ![]() 2014 Cuvée Marie Dorion Tapteil Vineyard, Columbia Valley Marie Dorion, a Native American of the Iowa Tribe, was the only female member of an overland expedition, to establish a fur trading post at the mouth of the Columbia River. Marie settled on a farm on the French Prairie, in the same area Lady Hill calls home. We pay homage by labeling our Cuvée Marie Dorion in her name under the Lady Hill brand. Flavor Profile: Dried plum, fig, tobacco leaf, blackberry liqueur and lingering Red Mountain tannins. ![]() 2014 Cuvée Elfrieda Zorn Red Willow Vineyard, Columbia Valley Elfrieda and Henry Zorn met and fell in love in the hop fields of Champoeg in Oregon’s Willamette Valley. Working alongside one another, they discovered they shared many things; a birth date of May 1st, 1880 included. Above all, Elfreida practiced a fierce yet tender love for Henry and her children. We memorialize her with the Lady Hill Elfrieda Zorn Cuvée. Flavor Profile: Black cherry and plum jelly, Herbes de Provence and tobacco. The rich texture is balanced with fine, talc-like tannins that mingle with a vibrant, juicy acidity. ![]() 2014 Cuvée Etienne Lucier Slide Mountain Vineyard, Columbia Valley Etienne Lucier was a French-Canadian fur trader with ties to both The Pacific Fur Company and The Hudson Bay Company. He is known as the first farmer of European decent in Oregon and established a prosperous farm a "stone's throw" from Lady Hill Winery. In honor of pioneer Etienne Lucier, we are happy to present this Bordeaux blend. Flavor Profile: Layered with tart red berries and sweet barrel spice you’ll find savory hints of olive and mint alongside cocoa and tobacco leaf. The tannins are chalky with a clean minerality throughout the finish. The Lady Hill’s Vineyard Explorer Wine Gift-Set is $98 plus tax (Save $47!) ![]() Two vintages of our Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre red blend. Step away from the classic Cabs and Merlots and into the realm of the Rhône. The combination of unique soil type, consistent winds and notable heat units have allowed Red Mountain growers to produce some of the finest Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre the Pacific Northwest has ever seen. The intensely rich mouthfeel of these wines offer flavors of ripe raspberry, tea leaf and white pepper backed by a soft, rounded mouthfeel common in Rhône style blends. The Rhône-Inspired Red Heaven Vineyard Wine Gift-Set includes: 2014 Ad Lucem Daystar Red Heaven Vineyard, Columbia Valley AVA For as wonderful and harmonious as Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre are blended together, they could not be more different on the vine. Syrah, the dark blending beauty oozing with blue and black fruits is one of the earliest ripening vinifera in our stable. Grenache, the lesser known of the three, takes center stage in this GSM with racy red raspberry and a rustic spice that needs every degree day Red Mountain can give to ripen fully. Mourvèdre carries with it a candied red fruit matched with gamey, wild characters that accentuate the dusty, earthy terroir of this exceptional AVA. 2015 Ad Lucem Daystar Red Heaven Vineyard, Columbia Valley AVA Amber and cinnamon hues around the rim highlight hints of jam and sangria at the core. Ripe, candied red fruits fill the glass with hints of spicy sandalwood, blackberry liqueur and dried orange. The finish is a bit boozy, but just enough to warm the palate and prepare it for the meal ahead. The Rhône-Inspired Red Heaven Vineyard Wine Gift-Set is $58 plus tax (Save $28!)
