The 2019 vintage brought us a “Classic Oregon vintage” – harvest rains, humidity, birds, few days above 90F, low crop yields and fruit complexity. All of this lead us to search for a new relationship and source for this rare vinifera. Tucked in the hills outside of Yamhill, sits a SE facing gem of a site. Late ripening due to elevation and coastal influence, sugars stay down while maintaining bright acidity. Wine was aged 6 months in stainless steel tank with little to no malolactic conversion.
Glistening hues of lemon yellow, cream, light green reflections. Lemon zest, slate aromas, tart hints of Granny Smith apple, Asian pear and subtle tropical notes. Elegant mouthfeel is characteristic for Willamette Valley Pinot Blanc, showing ease of drinkability. Pair with Brie cheese, Kumamoto oysters from Yaquina Bay or just a warm day on the patio.
