2014 Ad Lucem Mourvedre
This special wine comes from two notable Columbia Valley vineyards in Washington, famed Red Willow on the west end of the Yakima Valley, and Red Heaven Vineyard further east on Red Mountain. The combination of unique soil, consistent winds and notable heat produces some of the finest Mourvèdre in the Northwest.
Dark, thick skinned and grown in the hottest climates, Mourvèdre provides a rich, intense fruit weight and aggressive tannin structure. Typically blended with Syrah and Grenache, our hand selected barrels produced our finest example of what Mourvèdre can be in the New World. The profile brings intense mahogany, auburn, brick, amber hues and candied red fruits, cinnamon, black pepper and violets. A rich mouthfeel boasts assertive tannins, quenching acidity and a spicy finish.
